Trading Strategies

These are simple ways to use OT Trend's readings together. They're ideas to explore, not advice, and no signal is right every time.

1. Follow the trend. Check the weekly chart (2Y) first. If the trendline is rising, look only for buys; if it's falling, look only for sells. Trading with the bigger trend keeps the odds on your side.

2. Buy the dip in an uptrend. When the trendline is rising but the price dips below it (H with a green dot in the watchlist), wait for the Combined oscillator to fall near 30. A green swing ▲ in the lower panel is the signal that the dip may be ending.

3. Sell the bounce in a downtrend. The mirror image: the trendline is falling, the price pops above it (H with a red dot), and the Combined oscillator climbs near 70. A red swing ▲ can mark the end of the bounce.

4. Wait for agreement. The strongest moments are when the trend and the timing agree, shown by a green or red bar along the bottom of the chart. Many traders act only then.

5. Know when a move is getting old. The AI tab shows how long runs above or below the trendline usually last. If the current run is well past the average, think about tightening stops or taking some profit rather than adding.

6. Respect the levels. Before entering, look at the nearest resistance, support and options levels. Plan your exit and your stop before you trade, and avoid buying right under a strong resistance or call wall.
